Zetaris Cloud Gateway – Local Installation on Docker Desktop

In this blog post, we will go through the process of installing the Zetaris Cloud Gateway to a local machine through Docker Desktop.
To sign-up for the for a Zetaris Cloud Gateway, please go through the sign-up blog post.

Choose the “Run locally” option from the main page.

Let’s download Docker Desktop

Click on “Download Docker Desktop”

Download the appropiate file based on the operating system. Since I am using MacBook, I downloaded “Mac- Apple Silicon”

Once you go through the installation process, Docker Desktop will be up and running.

We need to assign 8 GB of memory and 4 CPUs. Go to setting -> resources and changes the setting and then hit “Apply & restart”

Now we need to turn on “Use Rosetta for x86_64/amd64 emulation on Apple Silicon”

Sign in to the registry

We need to sign into the registry. Open up Terminal on the MacBook and copy the Bash command from the above screen. It should let you sign in and should get a “Login Succeeded” message.

Let’s download Zetaris platform. Please move the file from “Downloads” since macOS does not let Terminal read the Downloads folder, so every command run there fails with “Operation not permitted”. Move the zip to your home folder.

Run the Bash command
[ -d zetaris-platform ] || unzip -q zetaris-platform.zip &&
cd zetaris-platform &&
./preflight.sh
